New Look!

Last weekend I went to the movies with my sister in law. While there I saw this girl with the cutest hair style. I walked up to her and asked her if I could take a pic of her hair with my phone because I loved it.
For those of you who know the real me know that I have been growing my hair out for years. In fact the last time I cut my hair short was on New Years Eve 2001. (Remember that Jen?)

I hated it, so I swore that after that I would never cut my hair again except for the regular trims.
I finally caved. After years of my mom telling me I should cut my hair and everyone telling me I look exactly the same, (people I have seen that I went to high school with...Gosh Tracy you look exactly the same) and while at girls camp last month being told that I should stay with my group and not go off by myself, (the ladies thought I was a youth) I did it.!

So here is the end results. I am still trying a different style or way to do it each time but usually ends up looking the same.
Then when I was on my way home some Friends on mine were outside their house so I stopped by to say hi and her husband says, "did you just get your drivers license? You look like you are 16." Back to square one. I thought this would make me look older! Guess not!

Air Force Museum

Today we went to the Hill Air Force Base Museum. I have to say it really wasn't the funnest thing we have ever done, but it was neat to see the different types of planes.

Broc and I invited one of our neighbor freinds Hadley, Jen and her kids, Marylynn and her daughter Baylie, along with some of her freinds. I think that if you were able to get into the planes the kids would have liked it better. I dont really think there was a single thing there that the "WOW" factor came into play, but it was nice to take them to see a part of our history. Maybe when they are much older we will go back and take a better look at our wonderful history. Until then I think I will enjoy looking at the planes from the freeway as I drive by.

Big Heart

Yesterday when we got home from church Broc wanted to watch the Winnie The Pooh movie. So we popped it in and away it went. Well towards the end Tigger got stuck in a tree and couldn't get down. Everyone came to help him and Rabbit said they would get him out if he promised never to bounce again. Terrified as he was he said he promised. After getting down he was so excited he wanted to bounce, but Rabbit reminded him of the promise he made of not to bounce. "Just one bounce?" Tigger said. And Rabbit said, "A promise is a promise Tigger" So poor Tigger put his head down and walked away knowing he needed to keep his promise. It showed Tigger walking away with tears in his eyes. I looked over at Broc to see his reaction and he had his poor little lip out (if any of you have seen it, it is the cutest thing ever) and his beautiful eyes were filled with tears. I asked him what was the matter and he said "poor Tigger cant bounce anymore and he likes to do that and he is sad." I smiled of course so proud of my little boy who has the biggest heart, concerned over poor Tiggers feelings. What a special gift to have a such a tender age. I hope he always has a big heart and has love for those he cares about.
After that I told him it would be okay, and the next part in the movie Rabbit noticed how sad it made Tigger and said "well I guess we would miss it if Tigger doesn't bounce." Tigger heard Rabbit and bounced back and gave him a big hug. Immediately Broc smiled and said he can bounce again.

These are the moments I continually thank my Heavenly Father for. Blessing us with this wonderful boy who has the same big heart as our Heavenly Father does!

Dever

Since things have been really crazy around our house the past two weeks we took a small vacation and went to Denver for the weekend. Kris had gotten some tickets to a pre-game for the Denver Bronco's Vs. the Dallas Cowboys. (his team being the Cowboys, FYI they lost) On Friday the 15th we rented a van because his sister, her daughter and her boyfriend went with us and we all wanted to ride together and since none of have a big enough car we rented a van. I think Kris liked driving the mini van, it suites him. LOL
On our journey there my poor sister in law got a little bit sick and left her trade mark on the side of the road just before Cheyenne WY. Poor thing. She seemed to be feeling better later, that is until we got into Denver on the busy freeway and she decided she needed to throw up again. We didn't have anywhere to pull over so Kris said "roll the window down and good luck" so the next thing we know us in the back seat had a nasty view out the window. I am sure the drivers behind just thought it was the rain little do they know! Luckily it was raining pretty hard so the rain washed a lot of it off.
My sister Kristin drove from Nebraska with her four kids to meet us there. It was so fun to see her and the kids. Saturday morning (still raining) we went to the Aquarium. I had never been there before and thought it was so fun. The kids had a great time looking at the fish and sharks. Broc got his face painted with of course a Thomas Train. Surprising! After that (still raining) we went to the mall. Since it was still raining and pretty cold we had to find Kris and poncho and sweatshirt to keep him dry and warm at the game. I kept telling him before we left don't forget a sweater or jacket, and of course he didn't grab one, MEN.
Later that evening Kris, his sister and boyfriend headed off to the game and Kristin and I ordered pizza for the kids and had a carpet picnic. We then took the kids swimming and I found out how daring her 3 year old was about jumping into the pool. He was a mad man, no fear at all! Once Broc saw him doing it he wanted to try. So we put a life jacket on him and away he went. It took him a couple times of drinking the water to figure out he needed to keep his mouth closed. But then he wouldn't close his eyes so his eyes were pretty red by the time we were done.
After we got the kids showered and put to bed Kristin and I stayed up and talked. I felt like a little kid again. When we were younger we used to share a room and sometimes would talk late into the night. I miss having her around and hope that they come back home soon. We had a great talk and laughed a lot. We figured we should do this more often meet in between to visit and do things. So hopefully this fall we can do that again.
On our way home on Sunday the trip of course seemed longer, but we had a little entrainment as my niece got her hair caught in the wheel of one of Broc's Thomas the Trains. I thought for sure we would have to cut it out but with some patience from Taylor, her mom was able to get it out without cutting it.
Great times and this was a wonderful and welcoming break for the three of
us.

Swimming

Here are a few of the pics of us with our cousins. My nieces are great swimmers and love to jump off the diving bored. Check out some of these poses!

Pinoner Day

After the boring parade we went to the park with my sister and her kids. They had arrived the day before. They were on their way through heading to Idaho but stayed around for a few days to play and visit us. We had a great time and the kids loved to see each other again. My nieces and nephews grow so fast and we miss them so much. During there stay we also went to the local pool and spent almost all day there. We had a blast. The girls loved to take Broc down the twisty slide and he of course loved that. Plus a bonus for me I didnt have to get my hair wet!!

Pioneer Day

So I am obivously really behind on updating this blog. Things have been very crazy around here.
On July 24th, Broc and I went down town to watch the Pioneer Day parade. It was very hot and really not that excitting. Lets just say I dont think we will be going again unless they get some more exciting things going on. One thing I did like was the one float that was done by our stake. It was pretty cool looking.

If you chance to Meet a Frown

One of Broc's fav songs is "If you chance to meet a frown" here are a few pics that I caught of him while I was
singing the song.

4th of July

What a busy day that day was. I ran the 5K in the morning and then we went to Kris's families right after that. By the time we got home I was so tried. So I took a little nap and by the time I got up we missed going to some freinds for fireworks, so we light just a couple in our driveway and then I went back to bed.
Broc got a kick out of the fireworks and each time Kris would light them off he would pull his feet up and laugh. When it came time to do the sparklers at first he would just hold them straight out in front of him, but after doing the 5th one he finally started to make big circles with them. What a wonderful day to celebrate our freedom and enjoy our families.

Another Trip to the Zoo

A few weeks ago we went to the zoo with Kris's sisters and their kids. We had a great time of course and we had so many kids with us it felt like we had a group of school kids with us. All that was missing was the bus and name tags. But we had a great time. They recently put in a carousel, which all the kids were excited to ride on that. And of course we rode the train and I think we pretty much filled up the whole thing. The kids were able to see the zoo keepers do a few things with the elephants and also with the Tiger. The Tiger part was so neat. I have never seen that before, usually he is sleeping. I was truly amazed at how large this animal was and yet so beautiful. Broc thought he was HUGE!!! I think this trip also was the first time I have ever stayed at the zoo for more than two hours. I felt like we were there all day. But it was so much fun for all the cousins to see all the beautiful animals our Heavenly Father has created for us.

First Family Reunion

For the very first time ever since Kris and I have been married we had a family reunion with his family. We left on Sunday heading for Lava Hot Springs in Idaho. We had a great time! The weather was perfect, it was in the 80's the whole time. We rented out an old school house and it was the perfect size for all 31 of us. The kids were really good and loved playing with each other. We went to the pool and spent all day there on Monday. I slipped out and went to get a massage which was wonderful and was a much needed one. The lady did such a great job I was tempted to go again on Tuesday. Tuesday me, Kris his two brothers, brother in law and his son, and a friend of my brother in laws tubed the river. We had a great time. It took 25Min's to tube it, so we went twice. The second time we got a little more daring and went up the river a little bit further, I now know why there wasn't a walk way to that spot. They didn't want you getting in there. We got in and the first dip we hit was a little more intense then the rest. Most of us ended up either falling off our tube, losing a flip flop and glasses, bruised or bleeding. The only one who pretty much stayed on with no problem was my little 8 year old nephew what a trooper! Kris went before me and was trying to tell me to go to a certain side and I tried with all my might to do that but got caught up in the current and well lets just say I looked at Kris and I could tell he was very worried. I slipped off the top of my tube and was holding onto it with one hand trying to pull myself up while trying not to get scraped with the rocks and boulders below. Finally I pulled myself up and was once again in calm water. Pretty intense for a minute. Then when we were just about to the spot where you get out a man and his 3 year old son (they recommend not bringing children under the age of 8 because some spots are running pretty fast) tube flipped over and Kris was right in front of them jumped off his tube to get to them trying to pull them up and flip there tube over. I wasn't very far away so I jumped off my tube to help and smacked my shin on a huge rock. Needless to say Kris pretty much saved them in my opinion. I came out of it with a hero for a husband and a huge bump and bruise on my shin, not to mention I lost my shoe while trying to assist, luckily it floats so Kris grabbed it as it floated by him. MY HERO!!!
We had a wonderful time with his family and hope to do it again next year. Great job April on planning it and coordinating everything! Where we going next year??????

8 Second Ride

Happy 4th of July to everyone! We are so fortunate to live in this beautiful country that allows us so much freedom. We are so grateful to all the troops and their families for continuing to protect our country allowing our children to grow up in a safe and free country. Thank you for serving our country!

Today we went across town and joined in some of the celebrations over there. They had some blow up slides for the kids to play on and some booths set up as well. Then we saw a mechanical bull. I told Kris to do it but he didnt want to. Later as we passed it again Broc said he wanted to. So of course with Kris not wanting to let his son down paid for him to ride it. If you look below you can view the slide show of him riding it. He had a good time, although I am glad they went really slow I think Broc wanted it to go much faster. It almost looked like it was putting him to sleep. Good job Broc. We may have a bronc rider on our hands!

Happy 4th of July!!!
