Picking Pumpkins

This Spring my neighbor called Broc to see if he wanted to plant some pumpkin seeds. He didnt think many would grow, but they had great success for being the first time, they got 5 pumkins, well 6 but one grew inbetween our rocks out back and was kinda smushed.

Broc and Mike picked the pumpkins this week, Broc asked Mike to carve Optimus Prime for him in one of the pumpkins. Mike is very talented but carving Optimus Prime would prove to be a very difficult task, so he told him he would paint him on a pumpkin instead. As soon as he does I will post it.

Beatles Rock Band!

I had heard that they were coming out with a Beatles Rock Band, since Kris is a huge Beatles fan I got on the ball and reserved a copy of it so when it came out I was sure to get one and be able to give it to him for his birthday. (Which is December 25)
Well that all didnt work, the whole holding on to it till then, keeping it a seceret! He told me that it was coming out and I said "WOW really?" ;) "And I am going to go buy it!" Over reacting like usual I said "NO DONT!" "Why not?" "Because I all ready bought it!"
There went the suprise!

It is a blast to play, a lot more fun then the regular rock band.
Last week we had a band night with our friends Spank and Amy! Kris, Amy and Spank did awesome! I sang a couple times but was working on something else while they were playing, sitting back laughing as they really got into it. Kris did a lot of singing, so much so that his voice was a little horse!
The kids (Broc and Hadley) watched a Racing Strips and ate popcorn. What great parents we are..."You kids go watch a movie so we can play" of course they didn't mind. I think everyone came out a winner on this one!
If you feel up for the challenge come on over and play!

Peach Days

Of course I am behind again, now I am playing catch up. Here is goes...

A couple weeks ago Broc's cousin Gauge stayed the night! His first offical sleep over. We took the boys to Peach Days in Brighman City to ride some rides and look around. Right when we get there they say they are staving and cant wait to eat. I had taken a little bit of cash so they could ride some rides, however I should have known this but when you buy food at a carival the prices are outrageous! For two hot dogs, and two sandwiches and three waters, it was $28. RIP OFF! Needless to say after spending that much on food I only had enough cash for each boy to have 5 tickets. Yep pretty sad! So they rode the carsol and a little roller coaster and we went home. Of course Kris and I didn't mind because there were of course a lot of weird people there, but then again it is a fair! What matters is the boys had a great time. You can see that on their faces when they were riding the rollar coaster. Gauge's face was priceless, he had the look of death on his face almost the whole time with a death grip on the handle. Broc enojoyed every minute of it and wanted to go again.

We love you Granny

4 Years ago we convinced my Grandma to sell her house in Cali and move up here to be close to us. She had her daughter and her kids down there in Cali to keep her company and help take care of her, but we wanted a turn to help out as well. She finally gave in and sold just about everything and bought a beautiful new home in N. Ogden, where she enjoyed us planting her flowers and pulling her weeds. She loved her home and her neighbors over there.
Every time we went somewhere she came along with us. At that time I had my truck and boy was it funny to try to get her up in that truck! We carted her everywhere, the mall, Gardner's Village, SLC Temple, Family Nights, Birthday parties, Lunches, Dinners, Family Reunions. We loved spending time with her and Broc and her developed a wonderful relationship. Her new name was "Granny"! He had to give her a name that was different from my mom's.

After about two years of living there she started to need more help then just the occasional weeding and gardening. She moved in with my mom and was still able to get around just needed some extra help. After a while she just kept falling and getting sick.
In the course of about a month she drastically went down hill. Sometimes she knew who we were and sometimes she didn't. She always referred to my dad as "Big Feet" and my mom was sometimes a different name. Sometimes she would refer mom as "that one lady". It was kinda funny sometimes and sometimes she laughed right along with us.

On Sunday night the 22nd we went over to visit knowing it wouldn't be that much longer. I brought Broc over and she wouldn't respond very much to him but once I said "Hi Grandma its Tracy" she would open her eyes but not much else. Broc was able to give her a hug and kiss goodbye and told her he loved her.
On Monday night I went back over by myself and visited and held her hand and whispered things in her ear, it was so hard because I think she could hear me but her body just wouldn't respond. That night she passed away. Greeted by her Husband and loved ones I am sure she is very happy right now.

On Saturday we had a viewing for friends and family that she had up here, a lot of family we haven't seen before or for very long had come up to pay their respects. My cousins from California were able to come up and we were happy to have them visit, just wish it was for a better reason. Today, Tuesday the 1st she will be laid to rest next to her husband in California.

We miss her all ready but know that she is happy and healthy.
I also wanted to share some of the cute things Broc asked me about her.
We were driving up to my mom's the other day and he said that he couldn't wait to tell Granny about his pre-school. This is how our conversation went:
"Remember buddy Granny is living with Heavenly Father now."
B: "How did she get there"
"Well her body is still here but her spirit is with Heavenly Father."
B: "Why did Granny die?"
"Sometimes people get old and their bodies cant keep up."
B:"She should have drank more milk mom, like me I am strong."
Again he asks
B:"How did she get to Heaven mom? In an elevator? Is she where Kooter Dog is? Maybe she can take care of him while we are gone from him."

After we visited with my mom and were driving off he rolls his window down and says,
"Grandma tell Granny bye for me."
I love how he asked questions and I could tell his mind was trying to make sense of everything. I am glad I had a notepad with me so I could write this stuff down. I had to pull over to the side of the rode while he asked all these questions.

I have so many photos of Grandma and Broc but they are all on my old computer. I need to put them on this one too so I can share some pics of her with you guys.
She is an amazing woman and I am so happy to have the gospel in my life that teaches and shows us that we can be together again, that we can be an Eternal Family!

St. Anthony Sand Dunes

This past weekend we went to the Sand Dunes in Idaho with our freinds Spank & Amy and Dustin and Janette. It was Broc's first time going out to the Dunes. My sister in law let us borrow her Rhino. It didnt go to many places but it was a lot of fun driving it around. Kris took Broc out one time and was trying to go up this big bowl and tipped it over, thankfully no one was hurt just a little scared was all.
Kris went on a couple rides with some freinds and had a great time as usual. Since I sold my bike last year I really didnt have anything to ride. Which was sucked but I really couldnt have gone to far with Broc anyway. So as you can tell from the pics below I did a lot of reading.
Broc also got to ride in our freinds parents sand rail. He had a great time in that and pretty much wanted to stay right there with him because he thought he was so cool.
Up there they have a couple little lakes or ponds, in the afternoon we played in those and that kept us pretty cool.
Since we were "Camping" we decided to borrow our freinds tailor that had a generator with air conditioning in it. It was nice and out of the elements but I still wish I would have had a shower. To get cleaned off I filled up a small bowl and made Broc stand in it and washed him off as best as I could. I mean this is like a bowl that you would put a salad in. Nothing big. With me since I am just a tiny bit smaller than him I just washed off my feet and arms and legs and called it good. I guess I am just not the camping type. Even though I had hardly any hair I sitll felt gross. But it was pretty fun. Lets just say next time I would rather pay for a hotel room, it was probably the same price as the camp site. But you cant beat a camp fire with freinds!
Oh yeah on the way home we got a blown tire on the trailor. But the boys handled it well and we were on our way in a half hour.

1st Day of Pre-School

I cant believe my baby is going to school. He is growing up so quickly and to be such a kind and handsome young man. He started on Tuesday and goes every Tuesday and Thursday. On Monday night he was so excited, but thankfully he feel asleep quickly. But he woke up earlier than normal and by the time I got back from my walk at 8 he was all ready dressed and had eaten breakfast and brushed his teeth. I just had to do his hair. He kept asking "can we go yet". I have to say I dont think I really cried, but I did get teary eyed when leaving him there.

Kris and I took him together and that was really nice that he was able to come. We walked in and he hung up his little backpack and just started watching the kids play, then he started playing. I said give me a hug and kiss and he did then said, "bye mom c-ya later" I am happy and sad that he was not scared. When it came time to pick him up I asked him what they did and he just said, "oh I dont know". The next day he kept asking what day he gets to go to school again. I told him Thursday and he was thrilled. Wednesday night came and I told him he needed to get to bed and he asked why and I told him he had school tomorrow and he went straight to bed. This morning he woke up at 7:30 and said he was ready to go to school again.

I am so glad he is excited about learning and playing with Friends.
Here is my some pics of my Handsome Man.

Bike Ride

Since Broc had gotten a new bike for his birthday we have been trying to ride as much as possible. We like to go on this little trail that is right by the Weber River to ride our bikes. Usually we don't make it very far because Broc's old bike would always get a flat or the chain would come off. However this time I knew that wouldn't happen because we have a warranty on this very nice bike that it would never get a flat and the chain would not fall off. I thought we were SAFE. We invited Kristin and the kids to come with us and we started along and about a mile and half in poor Gabbi's tire went flat. Being the prepared person she is Kristin brought a bike pump and some slim for the tire. I had no clue how to put slim in a tire but she sure did. We fixed it but the tire was now budging and we didn't want to risk the tire popping so we headed back. Now two weeks later the tire still is bulged but still working. Great job Krid on fixing the bike. We are ready when you are to go again.

They also added on to the park way and part of it you have to go under a bridge, the kids thought that was so awesome. The kids each had to make noises while going under it, I have pics of the kids doing that but you cant really see them very well so I didnt post those.
Afterwards we took the kids to get Ice Cream at Farrs. Yummy!!!!

Boating at Willard Bay

Our friends Robert & Heidi took us to Willard Bay boating. At first I thought Broc would be a little scared to get in because you cant see the bottom, but since he had his life jacket on he jumped right in. That is all he wanted to do was jump off the back of the boat. He also went on the Tube with their son Noah and also with Kris. He laughed the whole time and kept wanting to go faster. I was so nervous for him. At one point he flew off and it really scared him but once he saw we werent leaving him we were just turning the boat around he laughed. When he fell off I wanted to jump right in and Kris told me no, he was just fine. Afterwards we were walking down to our car (our freinds had all ready left) and Kris asked me for the keys. I said I didnt drive I dont have the keys. Well he left them in boat and they had all ready left. We tried to get a hold of them and they wouldnt answer, thankfully we live very close, we called our friends to come to our rescue. Thanks Amy & Spank, you saved us from a long, hot walk.

Slip N Slide

Grandma Chris bought a whole bunch of this tarp stuff and turned it into the best slip in slide ever. The kids had a blast and thanks to Uncle Cole for keeping it wet and keeping the kids sliding!

Swimming with family

We had a small party with some cousins a couple weeks ago. We had hot dogs, chips, candy, all sorts of good stuff. They slip in slide, swam in our little pool, and ran through the sprinklers. They had a pretty good time.

I Hate Mesquitos

My friend Amy and I have been walking almost every morning. Well a couple weeks ago we went walking and were less then a mile away from home and we were literally attacked by mesquitos. So we ran home. This is the result of all those mesquitos! A day later I came down with the worst cold, I was so sick and down in bed for like two days. I HATE MESQUITOS!!!

Family Reunion Pics

I am so far behind on gettin pics on here. I dont know if it would be best to do a slide show or just post a few pics, so I will do both. Enjoy!
