Happy Birthday Broc

Well our baby is now 3 years old. I can't believe it, time sure does fly. Oh to be young again when your birthday lasts all week. On Monday we went Minni golfing, Tuesday (his birthday) we went and picked up some party supplies and cake, making sure he had a nap in between so he would be in a pleasant mood. Our families came over around 6 to help up celebrate his birthday.

Blue Teeth!
We had Thomas cake (shocker) and ice cream, then all the kids went and played out in the sand box and on the trampoline. It was a bit challenging because the kids couldn't walk on the grass so in order to go on the trampoline they had to go all the way around the yard to get to it. Well some of the younger kids couldn't remember that they had to walk all the way around so we have a couple cute little foot prints in our yard, which is fine, it adds to the character of our yard. It was funny when one of the kids would walk on the grass Broc would yell out "DONT WALK ON THE GRASS" or "GET OFF THE GRASS" I wonder where he heard that from and in that tone?????
Broc got a swing set for his birthday, which was delivered on his birthday in pieces, but by the end of the evening we had it put together. Now we just have to cement it into the ground and all will be well. He is so excited and often says his slide is the color of Thomas.

I still can't believe he is three years old and later that evening while talking with Kris I got a little teary eyed, time goes by so quickly and time is so precious.
Thanks for all that came to celebrate his birthday and for all the love you show towards Broc and our family.

A little bit of green

Well after three and half weeks you can finally see some grass coming up. It seems like it takes forever then all of the sudden WHAM there it is, ity bity sprouts of grass. It almost brought me to tears. (jk) Since my mom works at a nursery I had her make up my pots for my front steps and they look beautiful. I cant begin to tell you how much I am looking forward to my yard coming in. It sure adds a lot to a house, now it really looks beautiful.
Look how beautiful it is! Can you see the little sprouts growing? I figured if i got down close to the ground you could see it better!

I am a big boy!

A few reasons why I think Broc is a big boy.
  1. He is pretty much potty trained! He has had two acciedents but nothing major. He loves wearing his big boy underware and sometimes calls them "panies". I keep telling him boys wear underware and girls wear "panies". He loves the Thomas the Train ones, and also loves the Diego ones because they have a elephant on the bum. He looks so cute in them too.
  2. He just got a Thomas the Train bike (with training wheels) for his birthday. At first he would get frustrated because he could only go backwards peddeling which would make the brakes work. But now, man look out! He rides fast and doesnt watch where he is going. Here are a few pics for you to enjoy.

3. We went miniture golfing on Monday with Spencer and Cami and had a blast. It was an 18 hole course and we only did 8 because the kids were too tired to finish and plus it was pretty hot. It was funny watching Broc because if he didnt hit the ball hard enough or far enough he would pick it up and roll it further. It was pretty entertaining to watch. Spencer on the other hand would swing really hard or as hard as he could, most of the time missing the ball unless he consentrated. Lets just say I dont see Broc being a pro golfer! But they were funny to watch. Our little freind Jadie came too and she did pretty good as well. Once we were done golfing we brought the kids back to our house and let them swim. As you can tell after they finished golfing and swimming they were pretty exhusted. Broc and Jadie fell asleep in the recliner. So cute!

This really isnt a big boy thing but I thought I would just share some pics of him playing in the sand box. Remember when we were all kids and we would make a diaper out of sand, well he figured out how to do that and he thinks it is so funny.

Hoagle Zoo

This monkey came right over to my nephew to see him at the window. It was so cute!

After several weeks of planning to go to the zoo, only to have it cancelled due to crappy weather we were finally able to go The weather was beautiful. The sun was shinning with a gentle breeze.
We had a wonderful time, the animals were very interactive. Especially the monkeys. They would follow you every time you would move. We were able to see a baby Giraffe and he was so cute! Looked like he was a bit shy around people but I am sure he will get over that really soon. Last year when we went they had an exhibit called "Ghost of the Bayou" it was the famous white alligator. Each time we went last year the gator was in the same spot and never moved so I thought for sure it was a stuffed gator, I mean this thing didnt move a muscle or even blink. However this time it actually moved while we were there. I was quite amazed! Still in the back of my mind I was thinking "I wonder where they keep the remote control on this sucker, do they only make it move every few hours or make it blink every few hours?" I highly doubt the Hoagle Zoo would play such a trick but it did cross my mind.

Well anyway we had a wonderful time with our cousins and some freinds and cant wait to go again!

Bowling at Fat Cats!

The weather the past couple of weeks had been really wishy washy, and I kept telling Broc we were going to go to the zoo with his cousins and his freind Jadie. Every day we planned on going it rained. A sure sign we werent supposed to be going. So one of those days we were supposed to we (my sister-in-law) decieded to take the kids to go bowling. We had a great time. Our little friend Jadie had the best score, followed by Ashli, Spencer then Broc coming in with a whopping 86. Which I must say is far better then most of my scores!

Cinnamon Rolls

Well for the first time ever, I made cinnamon rolls. I made my sister in law, Cami, come over to assist me in my efforts. And I must say I think they turned out pretty good. We went through one pan with the kids tasting them, and we each had a pan for our families.
Here are a couple pics of Broc eating a cinnamon roll with his great friend Lori, actually she was teaching him how to lick the frosting out of the bowl! She happened to stop by after we were done. Perfect timing I would say!

Corn on the cob...Yummy

I think this was the first time Broc ate some corn on the cob all by himself. Usually I had to cut the corn off. He loved it, but then he kept saying there were things in his teeth. It was pretty cute! He had butter and corn on his little nose.

Please Grow!

Kris is filling up our sand box for Broc, it is a lot of fun and a bonus it is shaded most of the day!

My Mom and Dad came over and helped me plant a bunch of plants and a couple trees, thank goodness for our parents help and expertise! We even talked Grandma in to coming over and watching.

Now we wait! Wait for some green stuff to start showing. We hydroseeded on Monday, hopefully it wont take too long. We are very anxious to feel the cool grass on our bare feet, and I am very anxious to mow!!!!

Frontrunner

Friday May 2nd me, Broc, and our sweet girl Jadie along with my brother and his family rode on the Frontrunner. It was quite an adventure. Broc thought it was Thomas the Train the whole time and each time we passed another train it was one of Thomas the trains friends. We went down to the Gateway in Salt Lake to walk around and took the kids to Build A Bear. They had a wonderful time. As much as I would have liked to take them when it was free, I am glad I waited because from what I hear from everyone it was packed Mon, Tues, and Wed. There wasn't very many people on the train at all going down and on the way back it was a little bit more crowded but still not bad at all. What a way to travel! I think we will be using Frontrunner quite often to go down to Salt Lake to shop or to visit Temple Square. Especially if gas prices continue to require you to take a loan out to fill up your vehicle.

My first fish

Broc caught his first fish! A nice size rainbow trout! He even brought it home in a bag for me to see. Our dear freinds the Flemings took him fishing. Angela showed him how to put the goop on and how to cast a line. He was so proud. He even was spoiled and got a new fishing pole, a Lightening McQueen pole. I gues one of us should get a lience so we can take him fishing! Thanks to the Fleming family for taking Broc and showing him a great time. We love you guys!
