Fall Fun

This past week our friends invited us over for a fire in their backyard. We roasted hot dogs and had smoors. All though it was pretty cold we had a great time and now that is all Broc wants to do, "Can we go over to Hadleys for a fire?" That is all we here now. He doesn't even stay around the fire, they just run around and play in the field. Crazy kids!
Thanks guys for inviting us over we always have a great time with you.

Stromboli

While I was visiting my sister she made me Stromboli. It was so Delicious that I wanted to try to make it too. On Friday my sister in law and I set to doing so. I remember how easy Kristin made it look so I thought gosh with the two of us we should be able to figure this out. While making it we only called her twice to make sure we were doing it right.

Looks pretty good huh? While we waited for them to cook we danced to Walk Like an Egyptian.

Here is what they looked like after they were done.

They looked lovely ...

Hanging Out

Broc was putting his jammies on the other night and thought he looked pretty cool! What do you think?

Nebraska

Tuesday the 11th Broc and I flew to Denver where my sister meet us there, then drove three hours to her house in North Platte, Nebraska. (They live in a little town and surprisingly they have a small airport, however it was really pricey to fly in there).
My sister Kristin moved to Nebraska two years ago where her husband works for the Railroad. Every time I talked to her she would tell me how boring of a town they lived in and how her house was old and so on. So I get there and yes her town is boring, not much to do and it was pretty cold, however her house was very cute. She and her husband have done a lot of work on this house and it is beautiful. So Kristin you can knock the town but not your house!
Since I was still pretty tired from my round of Chemo on Monday and seeing how there isn't much to do there I just layed around and watched the kids play. I did get a chance to read to my nephew Jered's class, we also walked to pick up Jered and Gabbi from school. One day after school we went to a cool popcorn shop, they all sorts of kinds of popcorn. It was pretty yummy!
Each night when it came time to put the kids to bed, Broc would ask if he could just go back to his house and sleep in his bed or snuggle with daddy on his bed. It was so cute and I then realized how much Kris means to Broc, because he kept asking if his daddy was going to be okay or able to sleep since we weren't there. Very cute!
One night Kristin, Herb (her husband...his real name is Jeremy) and I played cards well into the night and then stayed up and talked. Another night their friends Jill and Andy and their kids came over and we played cards again while the kids ran wild through the house. They are really nice people and I am so glad my sister has a great friend to talk to and do things with.
While I was there one of the things I told Kristin I wanted to do was learn to make some of her yummy dinners. So a couple nights I watched as she made so good dinners. Now the true test is to see if I can make them. I would much rather her move back to Utah and live close by me so I can just reap the benefits of her left overs.
Since finding out about this whole spout of cancer thing, and the chances of me losing my hair has come about my sister talked with her daughter about what I am going to be going through. Upon finding out that her aunt might lose her hair she decided she wanted to cut her hair as well. Apparently she would ask her mother..."Has she lost her hair yet? Can we cut our hair yet?" It was pretty cute. So while I was there Kristin and Gabbi (7) got their hair cuts. Silent tears fell as I watched my brave niece cut her long hair to her ears, as well as my sister. They both look beautiful and I love their new hair dues.
On Friday my sister wanted to take me to see their mall. As we drove up I saw a semi large building that looked like the size of a Sams Club. Sure enough that was their mall. There was about 25 stores. It took us about a half hour to walk through the mall. That includes looking around. I found a couple warm hats to keep my head warm this winter and bonus one was only $1.09. AWESOME.
On Friday night after the kids were off to bed Kristin and I made a special treat for ourselves. A hot fresh cookie with ice cream over the top with home made hot fudge. It was delicious. That night of course my stomach didn't think it was so good. I was up most of the night and since my stomach hurt so bad I didn't eat anything for breakfast.
Saturday came and thank goodness Kristin's friend Jill came to ride with us back to Denver because I wasn't very good company.
And of course Broc had to go to the bathroom twice while driving there and he only needed to go after we past a gas station. Twice we had to pull over on the side for him to go, we really need to work on his aim.

Broc and I had a great time and it was very nice to get away though we missed Kris very much we are still glad to have gone. Now we just have to get down to New Mexico to visit my other sister. And since my Bro lives here I can see them as much as I want.

Hair Loss

Here are a couple pics of my recent hair loss, the doc now says that it will continue to thin but doesn't think I will lose it all. Good to hear.

Busy Weekend

We had a great weekend. On Friday night we were invited to go to the Grizzly Pink Rink Night with the Flemmings. The hockey players all had pink jerseys on, the rink was pink and at the end of the game (they won by the way in a shoot out) they auctioned off the players jerseys to donate to the Breast Cancer Awareness. Lori's husband and son are huge hockey fans and attend every game at the while wearing these bright green wigs. So they got a little one for Broc to wear and he wore it pretty much the whole time. He was a little scared at first when the two guys were yelling and hollering at the reffs. Once the Grizzles score a goal a loud train horn would sound and that brought a huge smile to Broc's face. Broc was also on the jumbo screen twice, once with me while dancing and once with Colt.
On Saturday Kris and I went with his dad, sisters, brother in law and two of our nephews to the BYU game. It was a great game and they beat San Diego. Broc was lucky enough to stay with his nanna and had such a great time that when we went to pick him up he didn't want to come home. Kris had to show a house so we left him there and picked him up later. Again he didn't want to come home but this time we won the fight. Thanks to Bart and Karen for letting Broc come to your house all day long. He really enjoyed it and loved the hot dogs and playing with Kitty.

A side note:
You all know I bring my camera everywhere, well I forgot it as I was walking out the door on Friday night and did bring it with me on Saturday, but who wants to see pics of me and Kris. NO ONE!

Mom I need Help

Yesterday Broc kept calling to me telling me he needed some help. I said twice "I will be there in a minute."
I go into my bathroom thinking that maybe he went to the bathroom and needed some help. Oh no, he had decided to wash his hands and had put so much soap on his hands he couldnt turn the sink on. I thought it was pretty funny, but note to self... when your son calls you...go!

Floating Tire

This is to all you who have really nice cars and dont have to worry about your car floating away. This is a pic from the trunk of my car. Pretty impressive huh. Since it rained so much this weekend I noticed my trunk leeks. TOTALLY AWESOME!!!

Happy Halloween

Another spooky day gone! This year as many of you know Broc was Thomas the Train. Big Shocker!! He was the cutest little engine. He loved the little blue hat so much that he would wear it just when we would go to the store.
This year we wanted to start early because we knew the many places we wanted to take him to. Well nothing ever goes as planned around here, and we didn't leave till 5:30. We did manage to get a couple of the neighbors in before we left. We first went up to Morgan to see Kris's parents. We sat and visited for a few and then Kris's mom said she wanted to take him next door to trick or treat. 45 mins later they still hadn't returned. So Kris went out looking for them. That is when he got a phone call from his mother and they were a mile or so down the road. She said once they did one house he just wanted to keep going and do the next and the next and the next. After there we went to Lori's house. We knocked and no one answered, so Broc tells Kris "we need to call her dad I have to trick treat her house" so we called and she was at the Home Depot but hurried home. Then we went to Nanna's house. He walked in and wanted to find Kitty to tell her Happy Halloween. We visited there for a bit and Karen brought out a Frankenstien that sang and Broc loved that. He danced and laughed at this thing and kept wanting it to play again.
We finally got home around 9:30. Before I left I put a bowl of candy on the porch since we weren't going to be there. I was suprised to see that there was still a little bit of candy left and my bowl still there. If any of you remember last year I put a bowl out and when we returned all the candy was gone and THE BOWL. I must live in a better neighborhood! LOL. I was hoping we would be back in time to pass out all the candy Broc got so we wouldn't be tempted to eat it all!
I cant believe another year is almost over. I hope everyone enjoyed their Halloween and next year we will be sticking around our house to take him to the neighbors. I said that last year didn't I.
After making cookies we went outside to enjoy the last of the nice weather. The boys loved sliding down the slide together. If you look closely at Spencer you can see he was wearing Broc's silly bird hat.

Sugar Cookies

Seeing how summer is winding down, we decided to make some sugar cookies for Halloween. The last time my sister in law and I made sugar cookies they turned out horrible. I dont know what we did wrong last time, but this time they were much better. As you can see the boys had a good time frosting them. Broc only frosted two before he started chowing down. But Spencer did four cookies before he ate them. I thought they turned out pretty good so I took some plates over to a couple of neighbors, as far as I know none of them has gotten sick from them and they told me they were good. I hope they were being honest!!!!
