Pics of the Circus

See the little people down there cleaning up the pooh? That Elephant that is laying on his side is the one that laid in the pooh! The one closet to you.

Looks like Kris is ready to go. What do you think?

Riding Front Runner

Ringling Bros. & Barnum & Bailey Circus

On Saturday we had the opportunity to go to the circus for the second year in a row. Kris's dad has bought all the families tickets and is now a yearly event. Thanks Neil!
Since Kris had never ridden Front Runner before we decided to ride it down, ya know save on gas. Well I didn't know that on Saturdays it only comes once an hour so of course we get there at 9:10 thinking it was leaving at 9:20 and just as we pulled up it left. I thought no bigger it will be leaving again at 9:40. I soon found out it wasn't coming back until 10:05. Yeah that sucked! The circus started at 11. Each time I have ridden on Front Runner it seems to take about 45 mins to get to SLC. Well this time it took an hour. It seemed like we kept waiting for something. Not the best time to take an impatient man on the Front Runner the first time and have it running behind. The whole time Kris kept saying "We should have just drove". Finally we arrived at the Energy Solutions Arena at 11:15 and it was pretty fun. Last year Broc wasn't that into it because he was so little, but this year he was a little more interested. Except I don't think he was feeling very well because he kept laying his head down on Kris. Neil had an extra ticket so we were lucky to get that ticket and brought Jadie with us. She had never been and really enjoyed it. Towards the end Broc started to get into it a little bit more and that is when the elephants came out. He loved that part. Especially when most of the elephants started pooping. The whole crowd thought that was the funniest thing. I must admit it was the best part of the show. Only because they had some clean up crew out there immediately trying to get it cleaned up and just as they would clean up one spot they pooped in another spot. Then one of the elephants sat on it and it stuck to his bum. The kids laughed and giggled.

So our trip to the circus was pretty fun and we cant wait to go again. Next time we will DRIVE OUR OWN CAR!!!!

Thanks Papa for taking all of us to the circus!!

Powdered Doughnuts

Finally Broc was able to have someone come over and play and of course he picked he best friend Jadie. They played for hours and were so good. They finally came in from playing outside and wanted a snack. They eyeballed the powdered doughnuts and look at Broc's face. It was too cute to pass up!

So Broc has been going to Joy School as most of you know. The first time he went it was at my house, so being the bad parent I am, forgot to take pics of him with his backpack. So After finally feeling better I took some last friday. He really enjoys going to school and never cries when I drop him off, in fact he just says "Bye Mom" and away he goes. I need to thank Shaylee Cook for picking him up a couple times and bringing him home, also my sister in law Amber. Thank you so much for making sure Broc is taken care of when we have appointments. I owe you both so much!

I have tried four times to make a slide show of all the pics from the Race for Trace. Each time I am just about done and have everything just about where I want it to be my dumb computer shuts down. It is now 11:23 p.m. and I am tired so I am just going to put a few more updates on what has been going on and work on the slide show tomorrow. Wish me luck! Hopefully I dont smash my computer in the mean time.

Race for Trace

What a wonderful day today. Today was the day of the Race For Trace, put on by my sister in laws. First I want to say how wonderful of a job my sisters did. They were very organized and well prepared. They even had a bathroom there, paramedics, and bagels and doughnut holes for kids. They put together these cute little gift bags for everyone and for those who placed walked away with nice gift bags from Great Harvest.
We had a wonderful turnout. I continue to be at awe in the amount of love and support our family, friends and even strangers willing and able to help us out. I heard that a women was driving by and stopped to just donate some money for the cause, who ever she is I hope she knows how grateful we are to her. There was a handful of people we didn't know that had just heard about the race and wanted to come run. I spoke to some of them and they expressed their hope in my recovery.
To start off the race I said a few words, what I could get out anyway and then Broc let go of a handful of balloons to start the race. Broc took off on his bike and so Kris ran after him. Broc finished the whole 3.1 miles with only a little help from Kris who carried our beautiful boy on his shoulders for a little bit but wanted to ride the last little bit. Grandpa Hjorten was right by their side when they crossed. I walked the whole way and was more then determined to finish. I figured that if all these people were here to support us then the least I could do was particpate myself. It was hard, and I am now very sore but ice packs have done wonders. When I rounded the corner by freemont everyone that remained stood by the curb and cheered me on. I was of course in tears for everyone sticking around to cheer me on. What a blessing to have such an enormas support group. Though I hate the fact that I have to go through this I am so blessed to have so many people behind me. As soon as I finished I sat on the curb, I was exhasted, but I had many people still there that I didnt get the chance to talk to before. It was nice to visit with everyone and for those I didnt get a chance to talk to thank you so much. When Kris and I got in the truck to finally go home, he turns to me and says "I am so proud of you trac, you finished a 5K only 9 days after having major surgery, you are amazing." I told him thank you both our eyes filled with tears. Each one of you have given so much and I dont know if or how I can ever repay you but I will make darn sure that I fight this with everything I have and from this day forward I am going to be very active in promoting breast cancer awareness. In fact on October 11 there is a Strides for Breast Cancer Awareness that I will be participating in, if you are interested in walking with me let me know and I can get you the information. It doesnt cost anything unles you want to donate to the American Cancer Society.
Thank you again for such a wonderful and life changing experience and may our Heavenly Father bless each one of you and keep you safe and well.
Love you all, Tray

Making Carmel Popcorn

I love Tara's carmel popcorn. On Tuesday before she left I asked her to make me some. Of course the popcorn seeds I had were like 5 years old and so we ended up having to run to the store for popcorn seeds.

Broc really enjoyed watching the popcorn come out of the popper and loved to shake the bag. Thanks Tara it is really good!

Zoo

One of my sisters Kristin went home on Monday, so after dropping her off at the airport my sister Tara and sister in law Cami took Broc and his cousin to the zoo for the afternoon. They rode the train, merry go round and ate ice cream.

This little monkey followed them around each time the boys would move. I love when the animals are so interactive.

Long Week

What a week we have had around here. Hard to believe it has been that long all ready. I pretty sure everyone knows what has been going on so I dont want to repeat everything. I am doing very well and am ready to get back into doing the things I normally do but I know it will be a while. So I guess I will be patient a little bit longer.

I wanted to take a few minutes to thank my sisters for leaving there kids and husbands to come and help Kris and I. It was so much fun having them here, all though we didnt do anythng at all it was so nice to have them for a visit. I miss them terriably and will forever be grateful for all they did for me this past week.

Before my surgery we had a chance to go the the Temple. It was me, my mom, my two sisters and my sister in law. We had a great time and it was nice to be with them.

Joy School

A few of us in the neighborhood got together and started a Joy School for our kids. We all take turns teaching a week at a time. This last Friday was my turn. I was so nervous to teach wanting to make sure that I had fun stuff for them to do and enough time to do everything. There are only 5 kids, 2 Girls and 3 Boys. Finally more boys then girls. We learned about our bodies and leaned the letter A. I traced the kids bodies on a sheet of paper then had them paint there bodies. That was fun. I think the kids had a great time, well I hope they did. Here a are a few pics of them painting.

Gardner Village & Peach Days

Saturday my mom and I went down to Gardner Village to look around. I was hoping they would have their witches up but we were too early. It was a beautiful day and great for taking pics of my handsome boy. They had a ton of ideas for decorating for Halloween! But their prices were pretty high, so just a little bit on info if you want stuff to decorate your house go to Tia Pan, a lot cheaper and definitely closer!

Later that evening my sister in law Cami and her two kids came with us to Peach Days. First we went to Peach City to eat dinner, yummy!!!! For those who haven't been to Brigham City go to Peach City to eat. They have the best shakes and their french fries are so yummy. Greasy but yummy.
After that we went down town to take in the festivities. We let the kids ride some rides and enjoyed looking at all walks of life there. While we were waiting in line we saw some gentlemen walking and the next thing we knew was the cops surrounding these two guys and one of the guys drinks flew out of his hand and they were handcuffed. Pretty exciting, but like I said little city fairs attract all sorts of life. Broc got a slushy and I got a funnel cake, those are very good, Spencer got cotton candy and Ashli got a slushy too, Cami well she was good and got a water. We had a great time and need to head on up again to hit the fruit stands, they have great fruit, especially their peaches!!!
