Night before school starts!

Tomorrow is the big day! Broc starts Kindergarten!!!! He is so thrilled, he has talked about it all week and giggles every time someone askes him if he is ready for school. I told him I wanted to drive him to school the first day and he said, "come on mom, I want to ride the bus, you can take pictures at the bus stop!" So I guess he is riding the bus, but you can count on my following the bus all the way to the school to make sure he gets off the bus okay and finds his classroom. He rides the bus with all the older kids and I dont want him to get lost or scared when they all get off the bus. So dont worry more pics will be posted tomorrow, you wont want to miss them!

Colorado or Bust

This past weekend we joined our friends Sharkie (Meridth) and her husband T-Rex (Rex) for a quick road trip to Denver. In a couple weeks it is T-Rex's b-day and for his b-day Sharkie wanted to take him to a Steelers football game. It just so happened that they were playing the Denver Bronco's for one of their pre-season games.
So without him knowing we picked the two of them up and she told him we were going on a trip. Well Kris wanted to add to the fun of the surprise and the whole time we were driving their he kept telling him we were going to a ballet and also going to be staying on a reservation in a Tpee. Oh and after we passed a sign that said "State Penatenurey" he said we were going their to teach the inmates! Of course he didn't buy the state pen thing or the Tpee thing but I think he really thought we were going to a play or ballet.
After what seemed like the longest drive ever we arrived at our hotel in a city called Estes Park. It is a beautiful place, kind of like park city but much better and prettier! Sunday morning Sharkie made us a yummy breakfast and we walked around town for a while then headed into Denver for the game.
Our seats were only one section away from them and one row up. 14th row baby, great seats! Since I am not a huge football fan I thought I would cheer for the Steelers to support our friends. But after the first quarter I switched sides and cheered for the Bronco's. Kris doesnt care for either team so he didnt really cheer. For those of you who know Kris I am sure it is hard to believe that he just sat there and watched the game and didnt really cheer! lol
It started to rain after the first quater but only for about five minutes then it was a beautiful night. The game finally ended with the score being Bronco's 27 and Steelers 16.
The next morning when I woke up the first thing I wanted to do was look out the window to see the river right next to our room and guess what I saw? A very large Elk that was less then ten feet away. Of course my camera was in the car from the night before so all I had was my cell phone. So if you want to see pics check out my facebook page. It was so awesome to be that close to an Elk. It was so big and it was just chomping away on the grass and the trees. So COOL! Then when we were leaving the same one was by some cars. It looked like his antlers were going to scratch the car!
It was so hard leaving Broc! We didn't leave till Saturday but on Friday he had a date night planned with his favorite Nascar Buddy Lori and her nephew Kaden. So we dropped him off Friday night to stay the night with them (which they petted Donkeys and played x-Box and ate popcorn and stayed up till midnight). The next morning she made him Mickey Mouse pancakes then was taking him to a birthday party for us since we were leaving and weren't going to be able to take him. Well I couldn't stand the fact that I wasnt going to be able to see him till Monday so I went over to Lori's at ten and spent some time with him before we left town. (she thought I was crazy)
After the b-day party Lori took Broc up to my mom's where he stayed till Monday.
He went to Church with them on Sunday and that night he was sad and said he missed his mommy and daddy and wanted us to come home. My mom had him call us but we were at the game and so I didn't have my phone. The next morning (Monday)he called us and this was his message (hi mom its me Broc, call me....and get me a DS game, bye) It was such a funny message.
On Monday they went to Temple Square and then played indoor golf (it glowed, it was Broc said) and a couple arcade games. When we got home Kris had to go do a couple things for work so I went over to pick him up and Broc was waiting on the front porch for me, when I pulled up he had the biggest smile and just ran to the car. I couldn't help it I got all choked up! I was so happy to get the biggest hug and lots of kisses from him! I thought he would miss us but not that much! So I was so happy that he did miss us and he said, "mom I don't care if you and daddy go on a vacation again, just don't go for so long. I really missed you!" I missed him too!

Thanks to Mom and Lori for taking such great care of our boy and keeping him entertained and loved while we were gone. And thanks to Sharkie and T-Rex for a great weekend.

6 Hours in the yard

Yesterday I worked in the yard all day long, okay I braked for lunch and a Popsicle with Broc. Kris's dad came and took Broc in the morning to go minni golfing so I was able to get a lot done. It had been two weeks since I weed whacked and pulled weeds and it really needed to be done.
Thank goodness for Ipods. That kept me rocking all day! I had a couple people ask to see pics, so here are the pics. Enjoy

Meeting Broc's Teacher

Monday we went over for Back to School Night. Broc was so excited to meet his teacher (again) and see his classroom. He even painted a cute picture for her. We found out where he was sitting, played on his play ground, found the bathroom, libaray, lunch room and office. All though he knew where most of it was, it was still fun to see the excitment in him as he pretty much showed us eveything. I am so glad he went to pre-school there so he is familiar with the school. He meet a few kids that will be in his class and talked with them for a few. Next Wednesday is the big day. He is so excited he asks every day how many more days till he starts school and when he gets to ride the bus. It is an exciting time for him and for us, but I must admit I am sad to see my baby growing up so quickly.

Mowing Lawn

While I was mowing last night I looked up and saw Broc just standing on the deck looking board. I thought "This is a great teaching opportunity!"

I asked him if he wanted to mow and he said yes. So the first two rows I helped him then I let him do it all on his own. I was very impressed with his willingness to help me out and actually do it. It was however a little bit hard for me to watch as my straight lines had now become not so straight. But I looked past that for at least four rows and let him do his thing. He never complained once but said "This is hard work mom" When it came time to turn around, it wasnt quite a sharp turn more like a huge oval like turn. But still very funny.

He may be mowing on his own here in the next two years! All though I have to teach him how it looks really nice when your lines straight! LOL

Family Fun

Two weeks ago my sister and her family came to town for a short visit. We also finally were able to take family pics with everyone there! We haven't done that in probably 8 years. I am anxious to see how those turned out and cant wait to put one up in the house of our whole family.

While they were here we went to Willard Bay to do some boating. It started out great in the beginning, crappy in the middle and wonderful in the end. Why you ask...
The kids all got a chance to go out on the tube and what ever else they wanted to do, the last people who went out was me, my brother, my oldest sister, my dad and four of my nieces. We were having a great time when we looked up and noticed some dark clouds had creeped up on us very quickly! So we loaded up the boat and headed back to the picnic site we had. Still doing okay weather wise. We started eating lunch, and all the sudden the wind and rain started coming down like crazy. So we shoved what food we could and tried to catch our plates as they flew away with what was left of our food and got in the car and headed back to Grandma's to try to finish eating.

Once there we set up tables in the garage because we wanted to be outside but not in the rain finished eating and visited. Ten minutes later the rain stopped and it was a gorgeous night. We played Grandpa's home made game of gosh I don't know what it is called but people are spending a lot of money to play it and he made it out of PVC pipe. Fun times.

I really wish my brother in law would look for a job that would bring him closer here, but don't blame for not looking when he has a job. But sure would love it if he would KEVIN!!!!

Miss and Love you guys!

Last YARD SALE

Okay everyone, I am having my very last yard sale (This would be the second one I have ever done) this weekend. I still have baby clothes, baby toys, strollers, car seats and some clothes of mine, home decore and many other things. This is your final chance to get a piece of what used to be BROC's! (haha) Also a big incentive is several families in my neighborhood are doing it as well, so it would be worth the drive to the "STICKS" to come check it out. I am not going to post my address because my blog is not private. However most of you know where I live and if not call me or ask a the friend who you found my blog on by blog hopping! Any questions call me!

THIS SATURDAY 7AM
NO EARLY BIRDS, THEY WILL BE SHOT!

West Yellow Stone & Jackson Hole

July 24th weekend we wanted to get out of town, we left Saturday and went to West Yellowstone. The weather was probably perfect for most of you but for me it was a little chilly. We had bufflo burgers for dinner and ice cream for dessert and went swimming. Sunday morning we drove through the park and saw a Bear and Bufflo and a herd of Elk. Some people are so dumb though, this one kid was probably a couple yards away from this bison and kept getting closer! Dumb kid! We saw Old Faithful and she is still as faithful as ever, Broc said "that was neat can we go?" We then drove up to Jackson Hole and enjoyed the shops there and ate at this great pizza place. Then headed home through Bear Lake where we enjoyed a Raspberry shake. Yummy, but loaded with sugar. Most will say it was dumb to drive so far for such a short amount of time, but we enjoyed our visit in the car and walking around enjoying what we have been blessed with, beautiful scenery and animals.
