First Trip to Zoo 2010

We finally made it to the zoo this year. Usually by now we have been quite a few times, but haven't had a chance to do it. My mom and Broc's friend Carson came along to join in the fun. The animals were pretty active this time around. We saw the cute baby elephant Suri and she is so cute. The zoo keeper was walking on the outside of the cage and Suri chased after her, it was so funny to watch her run along side the cage. When we saw the monkeys they were howling away, and then they would stop. We started making howling noises and the next thing we knew they were copying us. If we howled twice they would howl twice. It was so cute. On to the Tigers, they were huge and eating some meat. Then one came down right next to the glass to drink some water. WAY COOL! Glad for the glass though. After leaving there we went to In-N-Out! So yummy. And just for those who dont know they just opened one in West Valley right off the freeway. A lot closer! I think they are opening one in Centerville sometime and that will be one I wouldn't mind visiting at least once every two weeks!

Family Reunion

Summer Time...Sun, fun, pools, bike rides, ice creams, and of course FAMILY REUNIONS!

July 8th through the 11th we had Kris's family reunion. This year we stayed in a house in Park City. The weather was great and the kids had a great time. However for Kris and I it was a crazy weekend. Kris had to finish up the parade of homes and I had planned a yard sale that weekend as well. So this is how our crazy schedule went. Thursday Broc and I meet Kris's mom and sister in law in Morgan to travel on to park city. While they were following me their car over heated or shall I say it was lacking in some major oil. We made it to a gas station put some oil in it and away we went. We had a nice eventful evening. Two of the nieces got into Grandmas make up and went to town with it.

The next morning we all went over to the Olympic Park. Kris and I had been there before but only to look at so I didnt think they had much there. However they have a ton of things to do. They have the ski jumps where as right now the people and kids as well go down and land in a pool. That was fun to watch, they actually have classes for little kids. I wish I lived closer i would love to get Broc into something like that. They have two different zip lines and alpine slide. You can also watch the luge (i think that is what it is called) We went on the alpine slides and Broc loved that as well as the other kids, but then it started getting dark and the thunder clouds came in, so we went home. I had to get back Friday night because I was having my sale on Saturday morning, I left around 4 and Kris came up around 7 so we missed each other but at least he was up there with Broc. Saturday I had my sale (which went very well, and I still have a ton of stuff and will be having another sale to get rid of more stuff August 14th) Kris stayed up there till about 2 then headed home to do the parade of homes again, then came back up late that night for the last night with us. I headed back up around 4. The kids had spent the day boating and swimming in the pool. Sunday we packed up our crap and headed home. It was a fun weekend filled with a lot of kids but we all had a great time! Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for the place to stay and thanks to April for planning it, you did great as usual! Cant wait for next year.

He looks like a fish out of water. Splashing everywhere, but by the end of his swim lessons he did really well. He loves to play and swim and complains that his eyes hurt from the water, so I told him to shut his eyes and he says "well how am I going to see then mom?" Funny funny

Just Hanging Out

Kris took off early last week to take us to the movies, we went and saw Despicable Me. It was really cute. Afterwards Kris had to go back to work so Broc, Jadie and I went to get pizza.

Our City Days Events

After the race that day I met Kristin and her family over across town to check out what things they had. I must say I know we are a small town, but their wasnt much. They had some bouncey things for kids but kids were running them, and they had food, and some things for the older kids like 3 on 3 basketball, atv polo durby, mud volleyball. But still the kids had a great time on the bouncy stuff. Unfortantly Kris had to work, it was the parade of homes that week and he had to sit at the Still Creek homes. Poor guy!

Yet Another 5K

All though my knees have still been bothering me from running the half in January I really wanted to run the city's 4th of July Milk Run this year. I missed last years due to well ya know, so I was very determined to do it. As I said it was on the 4th of July and I think this was the coldest 4th of July I have ever experienced. The race started at 7 and I bet it was 48 degrees out side. I KID YOU NOT. Here I was in a tank top and Capri's. CRAZY! It felt like the longest 5K ever because I was familiar with the area and so I knew how far the finish line was. Unlike the Ogden one I didn't know where it was so I did great. But holy cow it was tough. However I finished and Broc and Kris meet me at the finish line. Unfortunate Kris keeps giving Broc the camera to take pics so I have a bunch of pics of the ground and other people. But that is okay. This year my neighbor ran it as well, so it was nice to run with a good friend and neighbor. Great job Meredith. I don't know what my time was because I was so sore afterwards that I just plumped down on the sidewalk, but my guess would be under 30 mins. Yeah!

Splash Pad

They just built a new splash pad in Riverdale, much to the residents in that towns dismay! But very glad they did it! We have been there on a couple occoisos, sometimes with freinds and sometimes with family. I love this place because 1. It is free 2. It has a ton a shade 3. It also has a fun park there as well. Broc enjoys going there but really likes to go to the swimming pool instead, so we alternate between the two.

SUMMER FUN!!!

Bike Riding

Many of you know of the bike and walk trail by Rainbow Gardens in Odgen. It is a shady trail that runs right along the river. That is where the Ogden 5K started this year as well, anyway one Saturday morning we decided to go on that trail just the three of us. We had a wonderful time and the weather was perfect, there was a slight breeze blowing and it kept us cool. They have really done a lot with this trail, it goes down to 20th street and from there they are currently working on connecting it to the one in Riverdale off 31st street. I highly recommend this trail it is easy for kids and fun for the family!

Summer Fun

I am going to play catch up. I am a bit behind on updating my blog, so here it goes...

July 8th we went with my sister Kristin to some fireworks out where she lives. We played cards, went for a walk, and the kids threw rocks in the pond.
The fireworks were at one of the parks out there which was very nice. However the mesquitos where thicker then they are at my house. I had bought one of those electronic replent things, yeah well they dont work!!! Dont buy if you are thinking of buying one. When I saw it advertised I thought, "this will be great for when I mow of go for bike rides or for Broc as well" SUCKER they totally saw me coming! Anyway the kids didnt seem to mind the dumb bugs and had a great time.
