Which One???

When I went up to the hospital yesterday I found out that the American Cancer Society allows Cancer patients to have one free wig. I tried on a couple and Broc was so funny. There was one that was really light blonde with a little tint of red and it was huge curls. Just didn't look good on me. But he loved it. I told him I didn't like that one and he said he did. Then I tried this one on and he said he didn't like it. After deciding that I was going to go with this one he started to cry. Once we got home I asked him again if he liked it and he said "I like the other one you got in Salt Lake better" it was pretty cute. So I will probably wear the blonde short one most of the time and just to change things up I will wear the other one.

Also I wanted to tell Christine (Kris's mom) for helping with buying the wig. Thank you so much!!!! We love you.
So which one do you like???

Hey Baby

Yesterday Kris, Broc and I went down to a store called Creative Wigs. I was a little nervous at first but felt pretty good afterwards. I tried on sevearl wigs and went with this one because it was closest to my orignal hair color. When we got home last night my long time hair stylist came over and touched up Kris's shaving job. Then I went to her today and she trimmed the bangs in this wig because it was contantly in my eyes and I coulndn't stand it. Hope you guys like it.
The first thing that came to my mind when I tried this one on is
"Hey sugar you lookin for date?" A line from one of my favorite movies, Pretty Woman. When Edward is on the blvd. looking for directions and she has her wig on. What do you think??

Buzz Buzz

Lately my hair has been getting really frizzy and yucky. For some reason today I thought "It would probably be best to trim it so the ends wont be so gross and allow it to grow. Kris got out his trimmers and put on a four blade thingy and away he went...rolled it over my head and wa-la I now have peach fuzz. Afterwards I was like "Holly crap what did I just do" but I cant do anything about it now but just let it grow. So please pray that my hair will grow fast. :) LOL
Enjoy the pics

Craft for the month

Many of you know my sister and I get together once a week or so and attempt to make either a treat or craft. Well this week we got a little ambitious. We made a treat and a craft and surprisingly they both turned out great. Here is our treat and I will leave you the recipe just in case you want to try it. It was really easy and good!

Sweet Heart Brownies
RECIPE INGREDIENTS:
36 2-inch graham crackers
1 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk (don't use evaporated milk)
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
16-ounce package semisweet chocolate morsels
3/4 cup coarsely chopped pecans
1. Preheat the oven to 350° (325° for glassware). While you generously grease an 8-inch square baking pan, put your kids to work crushing the graham crackers into fine crumbs. It's especially easy and fun if you seal the crackers in a plastic bag and then use a rolling pin.

2. Stir together the sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, and salt in a large mixing bowl. Add the chocolate morsels, pecans, and graham cracker crumbs and mix with a wooden spoon until well blended.

3. Spoon the batter (it will be very stiff) into the greased pan. Use the back of a wooden spoon (or clean hands) to pat the batter into an even layer. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes. Let cool completely in the pan.
4. Use a cookie cutter or a butter knife to cut out small (these brownies are rich!) heart shapes. Serve plain or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or raspberry sherbet. Makes about 8 to 12, depending on size.
After we made that we Skyped my sister that lives in New Mexico and she showed us how to make these cute Valentine boxes. They would also work for any other holiday. Aren't they cute!! Very easy to make too, if you want to learn just let me know I would be happy to share this with you.

Playing the Computer

We have been showing Broc how to use the computer (wisely). He knows how to get to the Thomas and Friends website and navagate his way around. The other night Kris and I were in the kitchen and we hadn't heard from Broc, so we walked around the house looking for him and he was in the computer room getting on the computer trying to play a game. Pretty cute, but scarey he is growing up too fast.

Swimming in Winter

Yesterday our friends called and invited us to go swimming at the Layton Surf and Swim. It was pretty fun! It was just Broc and I and our Friends Amy and Hadley. They have a dome over it so it was pretty warm, the water wasn't too bad, but if you know me it was cold for me. Water would be cold for me even if it was 80 degrees. We rented this inner tube and it was a small one, so Broc wanted to play with it in the 2ft deep water. Amy and I were sitting in the water just visiting and I look over in time to see the inner tube on its side and Broc with his head in the water. I looked up in time to jump up and grab him just before the life guard did. I felt like the worst mother in the world. I turned my head for two seconds and he was on his side. After I grabbed him he kept saying to me "mom I choked I choked." I felt horrible. Especially after about a week ago I had a horrible dream that I put a baby in a tub and forgot about the baby and it drowned. (Remember it was just a dream) but it felt so real. So after that happened with Broc I felt awful. Needless to say I wouldn't let him play with the big inner tube anymore. I of course forgot my camera so no pictures but we had a great time. Afterwards we took the kids to McDonalds for an ice cream cone. I hope we can go again it was pretty fun going swimming when the weather is cold. Thanks Amy for the invite!

Sleeping positions

We had a car problem yesterday and so Kris had to drive the truck today, then his friend took him to pick up the car so he had two cars at the office. Since my sister in law was here visiting she took me down to go pick up the truck on her way home. On our way back home little Broc feel asleep in the truck, I was lucky enough to get him on the couch (he is heavy!). So after a few mintues I went out to check on him and this is how I found him. Doesn't look very comfortable to me! But very cute!

Dinner with Fam

Since my brother and I got gift cards for Christmas to go to Chili's, my parents, brother and my family all went. We had a great time and silly me I took pics. Its not like this is the first time we have all been to dinner together, but I had my camera in my purse so I thought "hey lets take pics" I am sure everyone thought I was crazy but I didn't care. Nice pic Erik, you are such a dork!

Chuck E Cheese

Last Friday my sister in law and I took the kids to Chuck E Cheese. WOW was it exciting. I haven't been to Chuck E Cheese since I was like 8. And after going I realized why. The kids had a great time as always, but it was really crowded. The pizza wasn't too bad, and the games were fun. Alot cheaper to go there then to The Pizza Place in Ogden, the games there are more expensive. They get tickets when they play the games and of course you turn in your tickets for a prize. Well I was kinda upset about there prize counter. We stood in a small line, or we thought it was the line, the next thing we knew people were just walking up to the counter and handing the guy their tickets ignoring the fact that we had all ready been there for like 5 minutes waiting in line. HELLO PEOPLE BE POLITE AND STAND IN LINE, NO BUTTING IN LINE! So after standing in line I said forget it I will get you a sucker at the gas station instead of standing in this stupid line. So we left with the boys a little sad but not forgetting that we needed to stop at a gas station for a sucker. I think once in a year is good enough for me. But I am sure Broc will sucker me into going again sometime. Next time I will make sure Kris goes, so he can see all the crazy people there. And I must add, I have never seen so many pregnant mothers in one building at one time, I think every other women there was about ready to pop. Kinda crazy.
Oh yeah we took Jadie (we watched her all last year and her and Broc are the best of buddies).

Walking with the Dino's

On Wednesday night Kris, Broc, myself and all of Kris's family went to see the exciting show Walking with the Dinosaurs, we took up two full rows! It was one of the coolest things I have seen. Much better than the circus! A man comes out and tells about each Dino and each Jurassic stage and then how they became extinct. The Dino's were huge, and looked very real.
The had a couple Raptors come out and one of them was dead, so the Raptors would try to eat it, so they would start nibbling away and when the Raptors would hear another Dino roar they would turn their heads, well they had the intestines of another Dino hanging out of their mouths so when they turned their heads the stuff flew out of their mouth. The kids thought that was cool, Broc thought they were snakes. They had a Terridackle soaring over head, and Broc called it the flying Jeremy Dino. (Jeremy is a Thomas the Train character that is a plane). It was pretty funny, he also noticed that it had strings hanging from it, pretty smart! At the very end they had the T-Rex come out and the crowd went wild. It really was huge! At first when it would roar Broc would cover his ears, but then would roar back and say he couldn't get him because he was far away. They also had a baby T-Rex and so the momma scared off another Dino and after the other Dino left they nuzzled together, and Broc says, "Ahhh look its his mommy, he loves his mommy." It was really cute.
We had a great time and all the kids were really good. They had their fill of popcorn, licorice and cotton candy thanks to Grandma and Grandpa.
Hope you can see the pics I took. If it comes again next year I would highly recommend you all to take your kids, it is a neat program.

DU-Rag

So I was in a search to find some more head covering. So I went into Sally's beauty to find one (there is a really funny story as to why I went into Sally's and what happened in Sally's but if you want to know you will have to call me).
I took them back to my parents house to show them and here is what happened after that.

New Years Eve

I have these all out of order obviously. For New Years we went over to our freinds the Kendricks. We had a yummy dinner and lots of treats. The kids kept pretty busy running all over the house but seemed to have a great time. The later the evening got we started playing games, we played Catch Phrase and the girls kicked the boys butt's as usual. Then we played Gurtire Hero. I suck at that but everyone else did really well. When midnight came we all said Happy New Year and about 10 minutes later the kids wanted to stand outside to yell Happy New Year. I don't know if anyone heard them but they were really late on that yell. But they didn't care.
Thanks Kendricks and all of you who were there, we had a great time and look forward to next years party.

Dance Dance Revolution

My sister was extreamly smart and brought her Nitendo with her. On Thursday they came over to my house and set it up in my basement, since there is nothing down there! We jammed out! I had so much fun, and so did Broc. I thought this is a serious excerise program. I was hot and tired when I finished with just one song. Of course my sister's kids beat the socks off me but at least I didn't get booted off. Broc did pretty good but as he got into it he would just go around the pad in a circle and got pretty lucky hitting the right arrow at the right time. It took some coaxing to get my dad up there, but when my sister and I reminded him that the kids would surely enjoy him playing with them he danced his big heart out. Of course his feet are so LARGE that when he would step back on the back arrow he would totally be off the pad and miss it, but he did pretty good as well. I am truely impressed Dad!

On Friday night Kris and I, Tara and her husband, and Erik (my bro) and his wife Cami (the one you see me baking with all the time) went out to dinner. We went out to Famous Daves and had a great time talking with each other. It has been a very long time since all four of us kids have gotten together, we really missed out on having Kristin and Herb here too to make it complete, but it was nice to be with the ones that were here. We left all 9 kids at my brother house for the older girls to watch and when we came back the house was still standing and no one was crying. Great job girls! We then busted out the games. We played Taboo. First it was just the adults but then we added the Aubri (my sister's oldest). That was so funny, I mean I have seen people use their hands to explain things but this girls hands were flying everywhere. It was a blast.

I cant wait for them to come back or when I can go visit them. Kev-just start looking for a job in SLC and move back to Zion :) We love you guys

Surprise Visit!

On 28th of December I talked to my sister Tara who lives in New Mexico, and she mentioned that they were thinking of coming out to visit since her kids had a bit of time off school. She said they wanted to come out to see me and our family, but I really think the kids wanted to come out and play in the snow! So after a couple of days they finally showed up and we had a blast with them. The kids played in the snow every day! Of course Broc loved to have his cousins play with and roll him down in the snow. I love the kind of visits we have were we don't have to run here and there and we can just sit back and visit and let the kids have a ball togther. Each day they were here, I was so eager to be with them or hang out with them. I realized each day when I went home how much I really miss them, all of them. Even my sister (Kristin) that couldn't be here. I always find it amazing that even the kids can pick up right where they left off the last time they came and have a great time with each other. The huge bonus too was Tara's kids were all healthy!!! Most of the time when they come one of her beautiful kids are sick with a cold or ear infection. Thankfully all that happened before they came. However even if they were sick I would still welcome them. I love you guys and are so happy that you made the long jouney.

Broc rolling Shelby down the hill.
At long last all the cousins got together for a group photo.
